Lateinschule Alfeld
Alfeld, Niedersachsen
A richly decorated half-timbered house dating from 1610 holds Alfeld's town museum. The two-storey oak building was once the Latin school, training future clergy, lawyers and doctors, and later a teacher training college. Its carved and pictorial decoration is a fine example of Hildesheim timber craftsmanship. It has housed a museum since 1928.
