Landschaftsmuseum Westerwald

Hachenburg, Rheinland-Pfalz

Eight relocated houses from the 17th to 19th centuries form a small village museum on the history of the Westerwald, at the edge of Hachenburg's castle park. You can see a school from 1809 with a classroom furnished in 19th-century style, a barn from around 1680, a mill house, an oil mill from about 1750 and a bakehouse from 1850. The entrance building is a typical Westerwald house from 1723 combining living quarters, stable and barn. The museum is also an information centre for the Westerwald-Lahn-Taunus Geopark.
