Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum Berlin
Berlin, Berlin
Prints, drawings, posters and sculptures by the Berlin artist Käthe Kollwitz make up the core of this museum in the theatre building beside Charlottenburg Palace. It grew out of the collection of the gallery owner Hans Pels-Leusden and opened in 1986. Highlights include the lithograph Brot!, self-portraits, the woodcut cycle Krieg and works on death. Upstairs stands a sculpture of Kollwitz, over two metres high, by Gustav Seitz.
