Jüdisches Museum Emmendingen

Emmendingen, Baden-Württemberg

A small half-timbered house close to the site of the destroyed synagogue tells the story of Emmendingen's Jewish community from 1716 to 1940, including its fate under the Nazis. Displays cover religious and everyday life, and the Jewish festivals through the year are explained. In the cellar is a restored nineteenth-century mikvah; upstairs a reading room offers books and videos.
