Alamannen-Museum Vörstetten

Vörstetten, Baden-Württemberg

How the early Alemanni lived is the subject of this archaeological museum in Vörstetten. The permanent exhibition presents finds from excavations in the municipality, mostly from the 4th century late antiquity and the 5th century early Middle Ages, and places the village within the history of the Breisgau. Outdoors, an Alemannic farmstead has been rebuilt, with a house-and-stable building, a sunken hut, forge, pottery workshop, granary, bread oven and a garden of old crops and dye plants.
