Industriemuseum Geschichtswerkstatt Herrenwyk

Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein

Housed in the former company store of the Lübeck blast furnace works in Herrenwyk, this museum looks at work at the furnaces and daily life in the workers' estate around it. The permanent display covers housing, clubs and political currents, with a village-style grocer's shop, a smithy with tools and a steam forge hammer. It also deals with Lübeck's industrialisation, forced labour in the Second World War, and the rise and fall of the Flender shipyard.
