Heinrich-Schliemann-Museum

Ankershagen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Heinrich Schliemann spent his childhood in this former rectory in Ankershagen, and the museum is devoted to his life. A permanent exhibition in ten themed rooms moves from his boyhood through his years as a merchant in Russia and banker in America to his digs at Mycenae and Troy. The house also holds an archive including original letters by Schliemann and his family.
