Heimatmuseum Treuenbrietzen

Treuenbrietzen, Brandenburg

The town museum of Treuenbrietzen occupies a tower on the old town wall. The building is first mentioned in 1352 as the Holy Spirit Chapel, a place of worship for poor journeyman craftsmen and travellers passing through. It fell into ruin after the Thirty Years' War and stood derelict for years before being rebuilt. Part of the local story is told by the building itself.
