Heimathaus Schöneiche

Schöneiche bei Berlin, Brandenburg

This half-timbered house on the village green is the oldest surviving dwelling in the area, built around 1750 and converted into a double-parlour house around 1800. Inside are a black kitchen with open hearth off the central hallway, one of few left, and an exhibition on how a full farmer and his family lived around 1800 in the eastern Mark Brandenburg. Old useful plants grow in the garden.
