Heeresgeschichtliches Museum

Wien, Wien

Weapons, vehicles, equipment, paintings, photographs and documents trace Austrian military history from the 16th century to the present, with a section on the navy. The museum occupies the centrepiece of Vienna's Arsenal, a vast complex built after the 1848/49 revolution. Designed by Theophil Hansen, the building has housed the collections since 1869.
