Belvedere 21

Wien, Wien

Austrian art of the 20th and 21st centuries is shown in a building that began life as the Austrian pavilion at the 1958 World's Fair in Brussels. Karl Schwanzer designed the steel and glass structure, hung from four pylons, and it won the Grand Prix. It was later moved to Vienna's Schweizergarten and reopened in 2011 as a branch of the Belvedere, presenting Austrian art in an international context.
