Haus Rüschhaus

Münster, Nordrhein-Westfalen

A moated country estate on the edge of Münster, in the district of Nienberge. The Baroque architect Johann Conrad Schlaun rebuilt it to his own designs between 1745 and 1748 and first used it as a summer residence; it also worked as a farm. The house is closely tied to the poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff, who gives the place its literary fame.
