Hagnauer Museum

Hagnau am Bodensee, Baden-Württemberg

This local museum gathers documents, pictures and books about people who worked for Hagnau or felt tied to it, among them the painter Reinhard Sebastian Zimmermann, born in the village. Other themes are the pile-dwelling era off the shore and the processions carrying the bust of Saint John across the frozen Lake Constance during the great freeze. It occupies ground-floor rooms of the former monastery farmstead of Weingarten Abbey, with one room for each theme.
