Goethe-Haus
Frankfurt am Main, Hessen
Johann Wolfgang Goethe was born in this late Baroque town house in 1749 and grew up here until he left for Weimar in 1775. Destroyed in the Second World War, the house was rebuilt faithfully to the original. Inside you find period furniture and paintings from the Goethe family's time. The German Romantic Museum stands next door, and one ticket covers both.
