Gmach Główny Muzeum Narodowego w Szczecinie

Szczecin, zachodniopomorskie

This imposing building on the Chrobry Embankment above the Oder was raised in 1908–1911 in a modernist and Art Nouveau style. Shaped like the letter E and 54 metres tall with its dome, it carries reliefs on the riverside portico showing the Great Pyramid, the Parthenon, Cologne Cathedral and St Peter's Basilica. It opened in 1913 as the city's art museum, and its galleries cover over 5,500 square metres.
