Glasmuseum Waldkraiburg

Waldkraiburg, Bayern

About 800 glasses fill just under 200 square metres in the Haus der Kultur, most of them from northern Bohemia and made in the 19th and 20th centuries. You will see historicist pieces and plenty of Biedermeier glass, along with friendship beakers, tankards and jugs. Works linked to the glassmaking schools of Haida and Steinschönau show the skill of the Bohemian trade. A highlight is the work of glass painter Friedrich Egermann, who devised the Lithyalin and red-stain techniques.
