Glashütte Gernheim

Petershagen, Nordrhein-Westfalen

Right on the steep bank of the Weser, this former glassworks made glass from 1812 to 1877. With three melting furnaces it was at times among the more important factories in north-west Germany. The historic buildings have been restored and are now a site of the LWL Industrial Museum, open as a museum since 1998.
