Feuerwehrmuseum Waldmannshofen

Creglingen, Baden-Württemberg

Waldmannshofen Castle, a Renaissance moated castle, houses a large collection on firefighting history spread over three floors and more than 1,200 square metres. You will see hand-pumped fire engines, the oldest from 1733, plus motor pumps, radio and breathing equipment, uniforms and helmets from around the world. The castle itself is worth a look too, with early Baroque stucco, frescoes and a tower dungeon. The museum opened in 1967 and is among Germany's oldest fire brigade museums.
