Erstes Deutsches Fliesenmuseum Boizenburg

Boizenburg/Elbe, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Wall and floor tiles from 1880 to 1930 fill this museum in Boizenburg's old town. Across about 500 square metres, the permanent display shows pieces by Villeroy & Boch and by the Boizenburger Platten works, in Historicism, Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. Opened in 1998 in Reichenstraße, it also looks at how tiles are made and at tile art.
