Ehem. Furthmühle

Pram, Oberösterreich

The Furthmühle in Pram is an old grain and sawmill dating back to the 14th century, and the last survivor of 43 mills that once stood along the Pram river. Now an open-air museum, it shows how grain was ground and timber sawn here over the centuries. Until the 20th century some 140 farmers from twelve municipalities brought their grain to it, and a small power plant has supplied it with electricity since 1918.
