The tool museum in Remscheid spans the Stone Age to the 21st century, with hand tools, machine tools and power tools. It shows the part the Remscheid area played as a centre of German tool making, and documents how tools were produced, used and traded. It opened in 1967 and reopened in 1998 after rebuilding.
