Deutsches Spielzeugmuseum

Sonneberg, Thüringen

Dolls, wooden toys and figures with moving parts fill this museum in Sonneberg, the oldest toy museum in Germany. About 60,000 toys from around the world are held here, among them 19th-century Thuringian porcelain dolls, early Käthe Kruse dolls and toys from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. The displays Thüringer Kirmes and Gulliver in Liliput are among its highlights.
