Biała Fabryka Geyera

Górniak, łódzkie

Built in 1835–1837 for Ludwik Geyer, this classicist mill was the first in Łódź to install a steam engine, and with it the city's first factory chimney. It was called the White Factory because, unlike later red-brick mills, it was plastered. Today it houses the Central Museum of Textiles, and the complex, one of the oldest industrial monuments in Poland, is a designated Historic Monument.
