Besucherbergwerk Abraumförderbrücke F60

Lichterfeld-Schacksdorf, Brandenburg

Beside Lake Bergheide stands a giant overburden conveyor bridge, nicknamed the Lusatian Eiffel Tower lying on its side because of its size. The F60 worked the Klettwitz-Nord opencast lignite mine from 1991 to 1992, moving about 27 million cubic metres of spoil in little more than a year. It was the last of five built, and visitors can go out onto one of the largest movable machines in the world. It is also an anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
