Bayerisches Bienenmuseum Illertissen

Illertissen, Bayern

Inside Illertissen's Vöhlin Palace, everything revolves around the honeybee. Exhibits include 50-million-year-old bees preserved in amber, beekeeping equipment and prints spanning six centuries. From Easter to October a queen and her colony move into a glass observation hive, so you can watch the bees at work. The palace also holds a Baroque chapel and the Museum Illertissen, and the Bienenweg circular walk starts at the door.
