Bäuerliches Museum Schmannewitz

A three-sided farmstead in the Dahlener Heide shows how heath farmers once worked and lived. Over 3,000 items fill the parlour, the kitchen with its bake oven, the bedroom and the wash house, while the former barn holds big pieces such as ladder wagons, field wagons and threshing machines. The old retirement cottage has a classroom furnished as in great-grandmother's schooldays, and a working demonstration smithy rounds things off. The tour runs up to the rafters and suits families with children.
