Augustiner Chorherren Museum

Markt Indersdorf, Bayern

The sexton's house and gate tower of the former Indersdorf monastery hold a permanent exhibition on the Augustinian canons, who shaped the Dachau region for centuries in spiritual, cultural and scholarly life. A separate section follows the site's later uses: the Salesian and Merciful Sisters, forced care of children and youths under the Nazis, and the UNRRA displaced-persons camp after 1945. The museum won the Bavarian Museum Prize in 2015.
