Archäologisches Freilichtmuseum Oerlinghausen
Oerlinghausen, Nordrhein-Westfalen
On the Barkhauser Berg, between the Senne heath and the Teutoburg Forest, reconstructed buildings tell of life from the Old Stone Age to the early Middle Ages. The reconstructions rest on finds from excavated settlements, and hands-on activities bring everyday life of the past closer. The open-air museum has existed since 1936 and grew out of excavations at Oerlinghausen.
