Archäologischer Park Cambodunum

Kempten, Bayern

Roman Cambodunum, a settlement from the days of Emperor Augustus, once stood here, and you can now walk across what remains of it. The open-air park above the Iller in Kempten has three parts: a Gallo-Roman temple precinct with five reconstructed buildings and a double colonnade, the small baths inside a protective hall with an exhibition, and the forum with its basilica, praetorium, barracks and service buildings. It has been open to visitors since 1983.
