Alpinarium

Galtür, Tirol

The Alpinarium in Galtür documents life in the high Alps, as both a natural and a cultural landscape. It is built into the 345-metre-long, 19-metre-high avalanche wall raised in the middle of the village after the disaster of 23 February 1999, and it also serves as a memorial to the victims. Children aged six and over can try an artificial climbing wall.
