Forschungs-und Gedenkstätte Heinrich Schütz-Haus Bad Köstritz

Heinrich Schütz was born in this house in 1585, when it was still the Goldener Kranich inn. The museum follows the composer's life from Köstritz through Weißenfels, Kassel, Marburg and Venice to Dresden, where he served the Saxon electors as court Kapellmeister for decades. The house also has a gallery and hosts concerts and courses in early music.
