Kunsthalle Emden

Modern and contemporary art fills this museum in Emden, built around the collection of Henri Nannen, who contributed about 650 works himself. German Expressionism forms the core, with artists such as Nolde, Macke and Kokoschka. The collection of the gallerist Otto van de Loo was added later. The buildings, by the architects Friedrich and Ingeborg Spengelin, are faced in the local clinker brick.
