Bunkermuseum Emden

A wartime high-rise air-raid bunker in the middle of Emden, now open to walk through. Across 26 rooms, each with its own theme, the museum explains how such shelters were built and used, and recalls the persecution carried out by the Nazis in the city from 1933 to 1945. Further rooms follow the post-war years up to the early 1950s. The cramped concrete interior gives a real sense of life during the air raids.
