Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung

There is no permanent collection here. Instead, a couple of large exhibitions each year range from prehistory right up to the present day, and sometimes stray into the borderlands of art or into non-European subjects. The galleries sit within the Fünf Höfe complex in central Munich, in rooms designed by the Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, which the Kunsthalle has used since 2001. Since opening in 1985 it has staged over a hundred shows and draws around 350,000 visitors a year.
