This museum follows the history of Prague from prehistory to the present, with archaeological finds, historical objects, artworks and archive material. The main building is at Florenc on Na Poříčí, and the museum also runs other sites and exhibitions around the city. It was founded in 1881 partly to stop Prague's heritage from being sold abroad. It is now called the Museum of Prague.
