Museum des Dreißigjährigen Krieges

The seven floors of the tower in Wittstock's late medieval Old Bishop's Castle each take up a different side of the Thirty Years War: myths and truths, its causes, life in the army, military technology, the battle itself and the longed-for peace. One level is given over to joy and courage in hard times. The castle grounds also hold the Ostprignitz Museum in the burgomaster's house, which covers the history of the town and the surrounding region.
