Art from the Old Masters to the present hangs in the rebuilt Palais Barberini on the Alter Markt, with a focus on Impressionism. The 1770s palace was destroyed in 1945 and later reconstructed, modelled on the Palazzo Barberini in Rome. The collection draws on works from its founder, Hasso Plattner.
