Jagdhaus Gabelbach
Ilmenau, Thüringen
This plain, late Baroque hunting lodge was built in 1783 for Duke Carl August, about three kilometres south of Ilmenau in the Thuringian Forest. Goethe visited often and pursued scientific studies here; it is now a Goethe museum. It lies on the Goethe hiking trail from Ilmenau to Stützerbach, close to the Kickelhahn.
