Zarrentin am Schaalsee, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Right next to Zarrentin's monastery, this small local history museum covers the region from prehistoric times to the present in 150 square metres. You'll find a fully furnished old pharmacy along with pieces of local crafts and everyday life. The displays also deal with the East German border years in the area. Access is step-free, and a visit can be combined with a guided tour of the neighbouring monastery.
