Festung Kufstein

Perched on a rock above the Inn, Kufstein Fortress dominates the town's skyline. You can walk up or take the panoramic lift to the sprawling grounds with their medieval walls and towers. The Bürgerturm holds an open-air organ, installed in 1931. First mentioned in writing in 1205, the fortress has a long history as a contested stronghold, which the museum rooms recount.
