A walk through the Mendling valley near Göstling is all about timber and water. Stops include one of the last working log-floating systems in central Europe, the Mendlingbach dam with its floating lake, and demonstrations of log drifting. The trail runs through a stream landscape and recalls the hammer mills, mills and wood supply that served ironworking.
