Turmuhrenmuseum (Rieth)

This private museum in Rieth, part of Heldburg, holds around 100 historic clocks from southern Thuringia and Franconia. Most are tower clock mechanisms that once ran in church towers, town halls and schools, tracing clockmaking from the Middle Ages to today. The oldest piece is a spindle clock from the Meiningen area, almost 500 years old. The collector has gathered and restored the pieces since 1981.
