Till-Eulenspiegel-Museum Schöppenstedt

Schöppenstedt, Niedersachsen

Schöppenstedt is the place to see how the jester Till Eulenspiegel has been pictured over the centuries. The displays include old printed editions, posters, films, prints, sculptures and documents from more recent history, among them an edition printed in Frankfurt am Main in 1555. The 1996 extension is built in the shape of a fool's cap. A archive of around 3,000 volumes of books and studies on the prankster, said to have been born around 1300 in nearby Kneitlingen am Elm, rounds things off.
