Stadtmuseum Waldkraiburg

Waldkraiburg began as a settlement for expellees on the site of a former gunpowder factory, and the permanent exhibition tells that story through staged scenes, listening stations, films, photographs and original objects. It follows the wartime munitions works, the expulsion, the barracks of the refugee camp and the town's building up to the 1970s. Eyewitness accounts and expellees' luggage bring the loss of home close, and a museum cinema shows further footage.
