Aboard a historic ship in Schmarl-Dorf, the Rostock shipping museum is described as Germany's largest floating museum. More than 12,000 items trace the region's shipbuilding and seafaring from the Hanseatic era to today. The permanent exhibition Reeder.Ruder.Seemannsgarn uses media technology and hands-on stations. Maritime radio, naval aviation and port economy are covered too.
