Raketenstation Hombroich

Where Nike Hercules missiles with nuclear warheads were once kept ready, there is now a museum site near Holzheim in Neuss. The NATO missile station covers 13 hectares and went into service in 1967 with a Belgian squadron; US soldiers were stationed here too until 1985. The grounds, with their three launch bases, now belong to the Insel Hombroich foundation.
