Państwowe Muzeum Etnograficzne w Warszawie

Warszawa, mazowieckie

Founded in 1888, this ethnographic museum gathers folk culture from Poland, Europe and much farther afield. In its historic building on Kredytowa Street you'll find costumes, textiles, sculpture and crafts, with permanent displays on festivity in Polish and European culture and on the storeroom of Piotr B. Szacki. The African collection is the largest, with over ten thousand objects, mostly from Sub-Saharan Africa. There is also a library and a programme of temporary exhibitions.
