A history museum in Łódź collecting mementos of Poland's independence traditions, chiefly from the city and its region. It holds notable documents, photographs, paintings, sculptures and prints from the communist era. Its branch at Radogoszcz is devoted to the German occupation of Łódź and the surrounding area in 1939–1945.
