Muzeum Tatrzańskie im. dra Tytusa Chałubińskiego

Zakopane, małopolskie

Right on Krupówki street, the main building is a brick-and-stone example of Zakopane-style architecture, designed for the museum by Stanisław Witkiewicz and Franciszek Mączyński. Inside, the focus is the nature, history and culture of the Polish Tatras, with ethnographic objects, historical clothing and furniture from highland life. The museum runs 11 branches in all: seven in Zakopane and others in Chochołów, Czarna Góra, Jurgów and Łopuszna, which makes it easy to extend a visit into the surrounding region.
