The seventeenth-century palace of the Kraków bishops houses the main collection. The permanent displays include historic interiors from the 17th and 18th centuries, a sanctuary to Marshal Józef Piłsudski, a gallery of Polish painting and European decorative arts, and a coin cabinet. Holdings also cover archaeology, folk art and natural history, and branches include Oblęgorek and Wiślica.
